Hickory Flat UMC provides help to God's children who are in need. Our dream is to challenge you to become men and women of ACTION. To become missionaries not afraid to do something with your faith, your money, your time and your skills to make a difference in the world - across the street, across the country, or across the globe.

NOUN: A PERSON UNDERTAKING A MISSION
AND ESPECIALLY A CHRISTIAN MISSION TO
HELP THOSE IN NEED OR WITHOUT GOD.

      

AC-TION

DEFINITION (PRONUNCIATION): ‘AK-SHN’
NOUN: THE BRINGING ABOUT OF AN ALTERATION 
BY FORCE OR THROUGH A NATURAL AGENCY.
ACTION-ARY

DEFINITION (PRONUNCIATION): ‘AK-SHE-NERE’
VERB: THAT ACT OF MOBILIZING YOUR FAITH IN ORDER TO SPREAD THE WORD OF GOD THROUGH SERVICE AND SHARING FOR THE PURPOSE OF BRINGING ABOUT ETERNAL CHANGE.
AC-TION-ARIES  will be able to serve to help the poor, enslaved, marginalized and spiritually unconnected people in this world. 

The goal of the Outreach Team in 2010 is to be in service outside a 10 mile radius of the church - locally, regionally and internationally. The Outreach Team will work closely with the Community Care Team who serves locally inside a 10 mile radius of the church to ensure no person in need is missed or left behind.
